Professor Phil Longhurst has expertise in Bioenergy and Resource Management holds the Chair in Environment and Energy Technology. He is the PI on ‘Global Challenges - UK-Brazil joint programme on the development of thermochemical conversion’ [EP/P510762/1], Co-I on ‘CORE - Creative outreach for resource efficiency’ [EP/K026429/1], and PI on the recently completed ‘CL4W - Cleaning Land for Wealth’ [EP/K026216/1]. He has a track-record of more than 20 years in waste and resource management including: energy from waste and the diversion of materials from landfill. His research includes: strategic analysis of energy from waste; risk assessment for anaerobic digestion biofertiliser; and studies on better regulation & risk-based decisions. He leads postgraduate studies in Energy, Environment, leadership and management at Cranfield University.
