Rebecca Douglas has always been interested in sustainability and reducing human impact on the environment. After completing her MSc in Environmental Protection and Management and one year driving an engagement programme in Greece, she became an Energy Manager at Tesco where she has been driving engagement and behaviour change programmes for 4 years. The most recent behaviour change programme ‘Energy Matters’ focuses on reducing energy waste in bakery and hot counter areas of Tesco and saw a 10% annual energy reduction. Rebecca is also responsible for driving down consumption through operational changes at the 1,700 sites in the Tesco Express estate.
Rebecca has won a number of awards for her work including Junior Energy Management Professional of the year EMA award, Edie Sustainability Leaders Award for Employee Engagement and Behaviour Change (2015) and her most recent engagement programme was highly commended for Energy Reduction Project through Organisational Behaviour Change also at the EMA awards
