Solar Trade Association

For 40 years the STA has promoted solar energy and worked to make its adoption easy and profitable for all users. And in the last decade we’ve been at the heart of the solar coaster– from helping to design the initial FIT which enabled 1 million homes to go solar in the UK, to reinstating solar thermal in the RHI and securing a reduced VAT for residential batteries installed with PV.

In partnership with key players right across the energy industry, we continue to lobby for solar’s exceptional synergies with storage, EVs and smart grids to be recognized nationwide and for system owners to have fair access to flexibility markets.

By supporting innovation and helping our members to overcome barriers, reduce costs and identify new risks and opportunities, we’re confident UK solar can thrive in the new subsidy-free era.
